The catalogue released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology also means that the next models coming off the line from the Shanghai factory will be approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and will be subsidized in the future. at this point, Tesla's domestic production is ready, waiting for the final result to be landed.

It is understood that Tesla Shanghai Co., Ltd. was officially established in May 2018, with a registered capital of 4.67 billion yuan, which is 100% controlled by Tesla Automobile Hong Kong Co., Ltd. In July of the same year, Tesla Shanghai Factory formally signed a construction agreement; in October, Tesla signed a "land transfer contract" with the Shanghai Municipal Planning and Land and Resources Administration, with a total area of 864885 square meters (a total of 1297 yuan). 32 mu) production base.

It took only eight months from the start of construction of the factory to the offline production of the first white car. According to Tesla's plan, the Shanghai plant is expected to produce 3000 Model 3 vehicles per week, with an estimated annual production capacity of 150000 vehicles in the first phase, followed by an annual production capacity of 500000 vehicles. Model 3 models and Model Y will also be produced here.

Data show that China has become Tesla's second largest sales market, with sales in China totaling US $1.468 billion in the first half of this year, an increase of 41.8 percent over the same period last year. It is precisely because of the increase in income in China that Tesla has strengthened his confidence in investing and building factories in China.

In the third quarter of this year, Tesla produced 96100 vehicles worldwide and delivered 97000 vehicles. Among them, the production of Model S and Model X models was 16300 and the delivery volume was 17400, while that of Model 3 was 79800 with delivery of 79600 vehicles.

Tesla said that the company reached a new high in the number of orders in the third quarter, and the stock of orders will continue to increase in the fourth quarter.

However, the domestic new energy vehicle market is not optimistic. According to the China Automobile Association, production and sales of new energy vehicles fell for three months in a row as of September 2019. In September, domestic production and sales of new energy vehicles reached 89000 and 80,000 respectively, down 29.9% and 34.2% respectively over the same period last year.

Since the decline of subsidies, the sales of new energy vehicles have been hit hard. in the short term, the sales of new energy vehicle enterprises have declined seriously, but they still have a certain degree of confidence, and relevant departments are also issuing relevant policies to promote the development of new energy vehicles. Chinese consumers are also gradually accepting new energy vehicles, and there is still a lot of room for development in the long run.
