A few days ago, Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Co., Ltd. filed the recall plan with the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products and the Measures for the Implementation of the Regulations on the Administration of Recall of Defective Automobile Products. A total of 69324 KX5 vehicles equipped with GAMMA 1.6 T-GDI engines manufactured between January 19,2016 and January 20,2019 were recalled again.

Due to design reasons, some vehicles within the scope of this recall will increase the engine oil level when the vehicle continues to drive for a short distance under low temperature environment. When the engine oil level increases to a certain extent, the engine fault indicator lamp may be lit up. If the vehicle continues to operate under this condition, the engine may be damaged, resulting in potential safety hazard.

Dongfeng Yueda Kia Automobile Co., Ltd. will replace the engine water pipe with temperature control valve for the vehicles within the recall scope free of charge, and upgrade the ECU program to suppress the increase of oil level and eliminate the dynamic decline caused by the last recall, thus eliminating potential safety hazards.

In fact, at the end of 2018, Dongfeng Yueda Kia has recalled a problem that is also the phenomenon of "increased oil," which leads to potential safety hazards. Since November 26,2018, due to the risk of increased oil level, a total of 68,000 KX5 vehicles equipped with GAMMA 1.6 T-GDI engines manufactured between January 19,2016 and October 30,2018 have been recalled.

Unfortunately, even with the recall, Kia's solution still does not cure the engine's problems, that is, the KX5 still has problems such as increased oil, burning oil, higher fuel consumption, weaker power and louder noise. Many car owners have complained that the recall plan is unreasonable and does not help at all. A complaint stand showed that there were still complaints from car owners until September.

As a "brother of the same door," Hyundai Tusheng also encountered the same problem. After all, it came from the same company, and the technology was also jointly developed.
