AutoBeta(AutoBeta.net)10/19 Report--

The China Insurance Automobile Safety Index Management Center announced a few days ago that it has completed a 25% offset crash test on the front of the SAIC-Volkswagen Passat 2019 280TSI. The test results are very disappointing. The following is the picture of the Passat crash test released by C-IASI:

From the picture, Passat in the front 25% offset collision experiment, A-column fracture, and serious deformation, the main driving frame is obviously deformed, the airbag does not play a good protective role, the overall performance is not satisfactory.

Perhaps because of the thick appearance and rigorous craftsmanship, Volkswagen has a high safety in the impression of consumers, and in this test, it is difficult for many consumers to imagine.

In fact, the US IIHS has also conducted a 25% frontal bias collision test on the Passat, and the test result is similar to that of the C-IASI. The A-column is deformed, but the test result of the domestic version is much more serious than that of the United States.

Prior to this, C-IASI also tested another model of SAIC-Volkswagen-Tuguan L. in the 25% frontal bias collision test, the left front blade and engine cover were completely scrapped, the A-pillar was seriously deformed, the frame, including the longitudinal beam, was distorted very seriously, the cockpit was greatly invaded, and the driver's safety was greatly affected. The B-pillar deformation of Tuguan L was very serious after the side collision. The concavity in the hit frame is very obvious. In the end, in the C-IASI test, only got the P (poor) rating.

German cars, especially Volkswagen brands, have always given Chinese consumers sufficient confidence in safety with a solid and heavy impression. However, in this test, after experiencing Tuguan L, Mai Teng and Passat, can Chinese people still trust the safety performance of Volkswagen?

Compared with Volkswagen, Japanese cars perform much better. The Asian dragon, which has completed the test, almost festered in the front 25% offset collision, and the front of the left door was deformed, but the A-pillar was almost well preserved and finally got a G (excellent) rating.

Similarly, in Toyota Leiling's front 25% offset crash test, the front almost completely collapsed and the left door was seriously deformed, but there was no big bend in the A-column and finally got a G (excellent) rating.

As a global model, the Passat is not bad in terms of sales. Passat sales in September were 20888, up 41.3% from a year earlier, according to data. After Passat released the national six model on the market, the appearance design is younger than before, and the recognition is also much higher.

However, judging from the results of this collision, the performance of the 25% offset collision test in the front is indeed a little unsatisfactory, and it is really hard to believe that such a result has been obtained under high sales.
