Christian Dahlheim, head of sales at Volkswagen Group, said that in the current environment of increasing economic and regional political tensions, Volkswagen Group can still withstand the risk of decline, which will also provide protection for customers' purchase decisions.

In terms of specific markets, Volkswagen sold a total of 412400 vehicles in the Asia-Pacific region in September, down 0.8 from a year earlier. The sales mainly came from Volkswagen Group's largest single market in China, with a cumulative sales volume of 384100 vehicles in September, accounting for more than 40% of Volkswagen Group. The good performance of the Chinese market continues to drive Volkswagen Group sales growth, which also proves why Volkswagen CEO Dis dares to promise that "Volkswagen does not intend to reduce its exposure in the Chinese market, and Volkswagen Group will not shrink its business in China under any circumstances."

In the European market, Volkswagen sold 272600 vehicles in September, a year-on-year increase of 36.6%. On this basis, Volkswagen Group's market share in Western Europe and even in Europe as a whole has increased significantly compared with the same period last year. Thanks to its home market, the German market, sales totaled 92800 vehicles in September, up 58.1 per cent from a year earlier.

The Volkswagen Group formed a big contrast in the North and South American markets, selling 73700 and 14300 vehicles respectively in September, down 9.9% from a year earlier and up 9.1% from a year earlier. North America was the only market where Volkswagen fell, with September sales falling 11.5 per cent in the US, 2.6 per cent in Canada and 9.3 per cent in Mexico.

According to the brand, Volkswagen performed well in September, even though Skoda's sales in China were mediocre, but its global sales increased by 7.5%. This shows that Skoda has good sales except in China, while from January to September, the top three brands all declined to varying degrees.

However, the group pointed out that the future will focus on the development of new energy models, and Volkswagen plans to achieve the goal of listing a total of 14 new energy models throughout the year.
