At the Tokyo Motor Show, which officially opened today, Mazda brought its first all-electric SUV model, which is named MX-30. The new car is located in a small SUV and adopts a new design, which can not find the design sense of any previous SUV model, equipped with Mazda's latest e-Skyactiv electric system. It is reported that the new car will enter the market in the second half of 2020.

The new car adopts a new style, and only the headlights on both sides of the front face retain the iconic Kodo "soul" design. The slender middle net is connected to the headlights on both sides, the width is also very close, and the whole is relatively simple.

The most distinctive feature on the side of the car is the use of the opposite door design of one of its sports cars, RX8, so the B-pillar design is cancelled; the door size does not look large, and it may not be convenient for rear passengers to get on and off, but the car is located in a small SUV with a length, width and height of 4395, 1795, and 1570mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 2655 mm. The headlights are matched in two colors.

The tail adopts a slip-back design with a small spoiler, and the taillight adopts a circular design, which echoes with the headlamp. Because it is a pure electric model, the new car cancels the rear design and is surrounded by a whole piece of it.

In order to highlight the concept of zero emission, the interior of the new car uses a large number of recyclable fibers and environmentally friendly materials; the central control adopts a three-screen split design, one for the dashboard, one for the navigation bar, and one for air-conditioning operation; in addition, the shift lever console adopts suspension design and adds an electronic lever.

The new car uses Mazda's latest e-Skyactiv electric system and is equipped with a lithium battery with a total battery capacity of 35.5kWh and a maximum output power of 6.6kW. According to foreign media forecasts, Mazda will also provide additional models with a range of 193-225 km.

As can be seen on the China Trademark Network, Mazda registered the trademark "MX-30" as early as July 4 this year. According to the new car plan released by Mazda in China, the brand will introduce its first all-electric model next year. From a combined point of view, Mazda is the first pure electric SUV or MX-30 introduced into China.
