Baiteng founder Dai Lei recently posted on social media that Baiteng Nanjing factory has successfully launched the first mass production version of M-Byte, and said that the factory will start trial production of the same batch of cars one after another, and he also released several offline pictures of the new car.

According to the released pictures, the mass production vehicle is white, which is different from the M-Byte concept car released by Baiteng as a whole, and even has a sense of "ideal and reality", but the one suspended in the front direction says "PP01", which means this is the first PP (Pre-production, pre-production trial production) prototype. The production vehicle still retains a large number of concept car designs.

The new embracing style for the interior and the iconic 48-inch shared full screen are the highlights of the car, but Baiteng's production car hasn't been shown yet.

According to official data, the model is positioned as a medium and large electric SUV with a wheelbase of 2950mm and two battery packs 72kWh and 95kWh, and the NEDC has a range of 430km to 550km. In addition, for the specific off-line process of this tooling M-Byte, Biden Chief Affairs Officer Ding Qingfen said that some parts of the trial car were manually shipped to the Nanjing factory by some Baiteng employees and then spliced.

At the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year, Biden founder Dai Lei said that the model will be put into mass production next year. So far, Baiteng has received 50,000 orders, half from the Chinese market and half from the European market. Mass-produced products will first be handed over to Chinese consumers, and will begin to accept orders from consumers in Europe and North America next year, and will officially enter the European and American markets in 2021.

At present, the construction of the Baiteng Nanjing factory has been basically completed, and the construction and installation of the main equipment of the five major process workshops of stamping, welding, painting, final assembly and battery have been completed, and the factory has entered the commissioning stage, and the factory began trial production this month. When the plant is completed, it will have an annual capacity of 100000 units, and the production date originally scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year has been postponed to the middle of next year. The model, codenamed "PP01", is the factory's first sample off-line tooling.

Earlier, it was revealed that Baiteng's parent company, Nanjing Zhihang, had purchased 100% of FAW Huali, a subsidiary, in order to seek formal production qualifications, and that the amount of repayment did not reach the agreed amount. At the same time, due to financial problems, it had applied for postponement of delivery many times.

In response to this matter, Baiteng also made a reply: "on matters related to payment, Baiteng and FAW Xiali have always maintained active communication and made proper arrangements for this. The construction project of the Baitang Nanjing plant is being carried out in an orderly manner. When the construction of the factory is finally completed, production access will be completed in accordance with the relevant regulations. "

As for the $500 million round C financing, Dai Lei said it was nearing completion, including industrial funds owned by FAW Group and the Nanjing municipal government, and revealed that there were overseas investors.

With the trial production of vehicles in Nanjing factory coming off the line and the approaching time of vehicle delivery, Baiteng must solve the problem of funds as soon as possible and confirm the smooth landing of production qualifications, otherwise it will face severe challenges.
