Today, Tesla officially updated the domestic version of Model 3, and the price of the standard battery life upgrade (made in China) of Model 3 was adjusted to 355800 yuan, an increase of 27800 yuan from the previously announced price, which was partly due to the compulsory assembly of basic driving aids for the new car, which had previously been used as an option.

At the same time, Tesla cancelled the standard battery life upgrade imported model with a price of 363900 yuan, and used the domestic version of 355800 yuan as the entry model for Model 3. In fact, the difference between the two is only 8100 yuan.

In addition, the domestic Model 3 standard upgrade has a range of 460km (NEDC estimates, 20km less than the imported version), acceleration time of 0.100km / h is 5.6s, top speed is 225km / h, and Tesla expects the first batch of delivery time to be in the first quarter of next year.

In this way, the domestic version of Model 3 has no advantage at all. For consumers, in addition to the obvious difference of domestic manufacturing status, the domestic version of Model 3 can also apply for a national subsidy for new energy vehicles, which is about 20, 000 according to the 2019 subsidy standard.

On October 24th, Tesla officially announced that the Shanghai super factory was completed and ready for production. It took only 10 months to start construction in January, and released the internal production map of the Shanghai factory.

Tesla also said in a letter to shareholders that the Shanghai plant was completed within 10 months and was 65 per cent cheaper than the US Model 3 production line in terms of capital expenditure per unit of capacity.

With regard to the pricing of domestic Model 3, Tao Lin, global vice president of Tesla, pointed out that the pricing of domestic Model 3 has taken into account the operation of the Shanghai factory for quite a long time in the future, as well as the efficiency improvement and cost reduction that may be brought about by the expansion of scale.

It is worth noting that the pre-built assembly production line at the Shanghai factory has imported vehicles into China for assembly production in the form of CKD, and the target is to produce about 1000 Model 3 electric vehicles per week by the end of the year.

Tesla China signed a financing agreement with China Merchants Bank, which includes unsecured 12-month revolving loans of up to 5 billion yuan, Bloomberg reported earlier. Tesla also said in March that he had signed a 12-month financing agreement with Chinese banks for up to 3.5 billion yuan to build a super factory in Shanghai.

Tesla delivered 97000 cars worldwide, with revenue of $6.3 billion and net profit attributable to shareholders of $143 million, according to the third-quarter results. This also led to a sharp rise in Tesla's share price. As of Thursday's close, Tesla was up 17.67 per cent to $299.68 a share, with a total market capitalization of about $53.68 billion.
