Today, Tesla officially updated the domestic version of Model 3, and the price of the standard battery life upgrade (made in China) of Model 3 was adjusted to 355800 yuan, an increase of 27800 yuan from the previously announced price, which was partly due to the compulsory assembly of basic driving aids for the new car, which had previously been used as an option.

At the same time, Tesla cancelled the standard battery life upgrade imported model with a price of 363900 yuan, and used the domestic version of 355800 yuan as the entry model for Model 3. In fact, the difference between the two is only 8100 yuan.

With regard to the pricing of domestic Model 3, Tao Lin, global vice president of Tesla, pointed out that the pricing of domestic Model 3 has taken into account the operation of the Shanghai factory for quite a long time in the future, as well as the efficiency improvement and cost reduction that may be brought about by the expansion of scale.

Tesla delivered 97000 cars worldwide, with revenue of $6.3 billion and net profit attributable to shareholders of $143 million, according to the third-quarter results. This also led to a sharp rise in Tesla's share price. As of Thursday's close, Tesla was up 17.67 per cent to $299.68 a share, with a total market capitalization of about $53.68 billion.
