On Oct. 25, Renault reported third-quarter revenue of 11.296 billion euros, down 1.6% from a year earlier; global sales fell 4.4% to 852198 vehicles. Among them, Dongfeng Renault sold only 606 vehicles in September, down 42.3% from the previous month and 76.1% from a year earlier. Sales totaled 11917 vehicles from January to September, down 73.43% from the same period last year.

Renault said that Renault's production, performance, sales and profits fell to varying degrees due to falling demand for diesel vehicles, reduced Nissan production and a slowdown in the global car market. Its sales are expected to fall by 3% and 4% this year. Because of the volatile third-quarter results, Renault said its operating margin target was adjusted to 5 per cent, compared with its previous target of 6 per cent.

Renault makes cars not only in its own factories, but also for Daimler and Nissan, as well as diesel generators for other carmakers. Due to the decline in sales of Nissan and Daimler and the deterioration of the reputation of diesel vehicles in the market because of the "emissions scandal", Renault's sales and performance fell.
