According to Tesla's filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Tesla's sales in the US market in the third quarter of this year were 3.127 billion yuan, down 39 percent from the same period last year; the cumulative sales in the first three quarters were 8.937 billion US dollars, down 3.37 percent from the same period last year.

The document also disclosed related sales in China, Norway, the Netherlands and other regions, with notable increases in sales in several markets except for the US. Among them, Tesla had the largest growth in the Chinese market, with sales of US $669 million in the third quarter, up 60.40% over the same period last year, and US $2.183 billion in the first three quarters, up 51.07% from the same period last year.

It is worth noting that Tesla's sales in the US market increased by 55% in the second quarter, but suddenly dropped sharply in the third quarter. Tesla did not respond to this. Some industry analysts pointed out that Tesla's focus on the European market and the Chinese market, the core business of the US market is relatively weak, and Tesla's business in the US market will be hit in the future.

At present, the Chinese market is indeed an important growth point for Tesla's profits. According to Tesla's previously announced results, Tesla's revenue in the third quarter was $6.3 billion, down 9% from the same period last year, and the net profit attributable to shareholders was $143 million.

In terms of sales, Tesla sold a total of 97000 cars in the third quarter, which was less than Musk expected, but also broke the sales of the previous two quarters.

In January this year, Tesla announced the official opening of the Shanghai super factory. at present, the Tesla Shanghai super factory has been completed and has the production capacity, and is now waiting for the relevant approval process. After that, mass production and delivery of the Shanghai super factory will begin, with the first weekly production of 3000 vehicles. At present, Tesla's first domestic Model 3 has begun to accept pre-orders. The starting price of the new car is 355800 yuan, the comprehensive mileage of NEDC is about 460km, and the Bailey acceleration speed is 5.6 seconds. When the top speed is 255km/, delivery is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year.

In addition, Tesla said in the announcement that the company had reduced costs due to improved production efficiency and unspecified "business negotiations with suppliers" and expected total capital expenditure to be slightly less than $1.5 billion this year.

Tesla shares fell $11.49, or 3.51%, to $316.22 in trading on the news.
