Affected by the "cold winter" of the automobile market and the decline of subsidies for new energy vehicles, BYD's performance in the third quarter has a large gap compared with that in the first half of the year, and its performance in the third quarter of this year has fallen significantly. In addition, BYD realized operating income of 62.184 billion yuan in the first half of the year, with a year-on-year growth of 14.84%; the net profit attributable to shareholders of listed companies was 1.455 billion yuan, with a year-on-year growth of 203.61%.

BYD sold 40729 vehicles in September this year, down about 15% year-on-year; January-September; cumulative sales of 335795 vehicles, down 4.49% year-on-year. However, according to the cumulative sales volume in the previous three quarters, the total number reached 185919 vehicles, an increase of 37.37% year-on-year. In terms of traditional fuel vehicles, BYD sold 143175 vehicles from January to September, down 31.22% year-on-year.

According to relevant regulations, the subsidy system for new energy vehicles will be completely withdrawn after 2020. With the official end of the transition period of the new subsidy policy for new energy vehicles in June 2019, BYD ushered in a three-month sales decline since July.

In the long run, with the implementation of a new round of subsidies for new energy vehicles, power battery enterprises will face more severe reshuffle. According to public data, the number of power battery enterprises in China was 155 in 2016, reduced to about 130 in 2017, and continued to decline to 105 in 2018. So can BYD survive the difficult period of new energy vehicles? It's still an unknown number!
